City reports may be incomplete. Conditions can change.

Findit · Oakland

A preview built around OpenStreetMap, Oakland 311 requests, and supplied MTC pavement ratings.

Oakland 311: only OPEN pothole/depression requests. Several reports may describe the same hazard; their status does not verify today’s condition.

PCI: P-TAP25 street ratings. Current inspection dates were not supplied. Previous inspection dates are not dates for current scores.

Route comparison: counts city requests within 20 metres of each evaluated path. These can include adjacent roads or multiple requests for one pothole. The app picks the fewest reports among evaluated routes within 10 extra minutes, then uses an approximate length-weighted PCI match to break ties. This does not establish a global minimum or verified pothole encounters. Travel estimates have no live traffic; this bounded road extract is for local route previews.

Location is requested when you choose to use it. Raw navigation GPS readings are not saved. Report drafts, their selected locations, and photo copies are saved only in this browser when you choose Save draft; delete them in Community. Drafts are not submitted or used in routes. Your current trip route and destination stay in this browser tab so refresh can resume them; End or returning to Explore clears that mission. Start and destination coordinates are sent to the Findit server to calculate routes. Basemap requests go to OpenStreetMap. When Geoapify is connected, search text is sent to Geoapify; device GPS is not sent to Geoapify. No analytics or account system is enabled.

The app shell can reopen offline; maps, road data, and route calculation still need a connection to the Findit server. Foreground navigation requires Findit to remain visible and unlocked. Spoken guidance uses an installed local English voice when available.
